The Story of AlexArt International: From Vision to Gallery
AlexArt International was founded in Sarasota in 2015 from a simple yet ambitious vision: to create a refined cultural space where contemporary creativity and classical sensibility could coexist in meaningful dialogue.
The gallery was established by curator Alexa Scanziani and artist Fabio Dal Boni, whose international background and shared passion for art shaped the foundation of what would become a distinctive artistic destination in Florida. From the beginning, AlexArt was conceived not merely as an exhibition space, but as an environment where collectors, artists, and visitors could experience art as an immersive and evolving conversation.
The search for the right location led to a remarkable space near the Sarasota Opera House — an empty structure of over 2,000 square feet that would soon be transformed into a luminous gallery environment defined by architectural elegance and carefully designed interiors. What started as a blank canvas quickly became a place of vision and possibility, where every structural detail was conceived to enhance the viewer’s experience of art.
AlexArt International officially opened its doors in May 2016 with a striking inaugural presentation featuring Italian master Massimo Meda, whose monumental works captivated collectors and visitors alike. From that moment forward, the gallery began building a program characterized by strong visual identity and international scope.
Over the years, AlexArt has welcomed a diverse roster of contemporary painters, photographers, and mixed-media artists from Europe, North America, and beyond. Collaborations with established and emerging artists have shaped an evolving exhibition program that reflects both aesthetic refinement and emotional resonance. Alongside contemporary works, the gallery has also introduced carefully selected historical pieces, reinforcing a dialogue between past and present.
The gallery has grown in parallel with the artistic journey of its founders. Fabio Dal Boni’s experimental work on aluminum — known for its luminous color and dimensional depth — has become a defining presence within the space, while Alexa Scanziani’s curatorial vision continues to guide the gallery’s direction with sensitivity and intellectual curiosity.
Beyond exhibitions, AlexArt International has served as a vibrant cultural hub for Sarasota’s creative community. Live painting events, book presentations, concerts, and private cultural gatherings have transformed the gallery into a living environment where artistic expression and human connection meet.
As the gallery celebrates more than a decade of activity, its evolution reflects a continuous commitment to artistic dialogue, discovery, and beauty. What began as a vision in an empty space has become a destination for collectors and art lovers seeking authenticity, refinement, and inspiration.
AlexArt International continues to grow organically, guided by the belief that art should illuminate, connect, and endure.
