Sarasota Scene Profiles Fabio Dal Boni: Light as a Language
Sarasota Scene’s September 2026 Arts & Culture edition features Fabio Dal Boni, the Italian-born contemporary artist and co-owner of AlexArt International Art Gallery in downtown Sarasota.
The profile explores Dal Boni’s relationship with light, shaped by the colors of the Gulf Coast, memory, renewal and a life-changing near-death experience in 2015. From his signature paintings on aluminum to his increasingly expressive acrylic works on canvas, his art transforms light from a visual element into an emotional language.
“Light became more than a visual subject for me. It became a language.”
At AlexArt, visitors can experience a selection of Dal Boni’s paintings and discover how polished aluminum and expressive canvas create different relationships between color, light and the viewer.
