Francesco Guardi was one of the most celebrated masters of the Venetian School, renowned for his atmospheric landscapes, capricci, and deeply expressive religious works. While best known for his cityscapes of Venice, Guardi’s devotional paintings reveal a profound spiritual sensitivity and an intimate approach to sacred subjects.

Praying Virgin is a rare oval composition that captures the Virgin Mary in a moment of quiet contemplation, her gaze lifted toward the divine. The surrounding floral symbolism and the soft play of light and shadow create a sense of sacred intimacy and emotional depth.

This refined work reflects Guardi’s mastery of color, gesture, and spiritual atmosphere. This painting stands as a cornerstone of The Masters Collection presented by AlexArt International, representing the union of faith, beauty, and Venetian artistic excellence.
